Title: New Year’s Eve
Fade in:
EXT. CITY STREET - NIGHT
The city is alive with the sounds of laughter and joy as people walk around, dressed in their best clothes, ready to celebrate the New Year.
CUT TO:
INT. APARTMENT - NIGHT
JACK and EMMA, a young couple in their mid-twenties, are sitting on the couch, watching TV.
JACK
(sighing)
Another year gone by.
EMMA
(smiling)
But a new one is about to begin.
JACK
(skeptical)
What’s so special about it? It’s just another day.
EMMA
(excitedly)
It’s a chance for a fresh start, new beginnings, and new possibilities.
JACK
(smiling)
You always know how to put a positive spin on things.
EMMA
(grinning)
That’s why you love me.
JACK
(nodding)
That’s exactly why.
CUT TO:
INT. KITCHEN - NIGHT
Jack and Emma are preparing dinner together.
JACK
(chopping vegetables)
So, what are your resolutions for the New Year?
EMMA
(stirring the pot)
I want to be more adventurous, try new things, and take more risks.
JACK
(nodding)
That’s a good one. What about you?
EMMA
(smiling)
I want to spend more time with the people I love and cherish.
JACK
(putting his arm around her)
I’m definitely on board with that one.
CUT TO:
INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Jack and Emma are sitting on the couch, eating dinner and watching the countdown to New Year’s Eve on TV.
ANNOUNCER (V.O.)
(over TV)
Ten…nine…eight…
JACK
(grabbing Emma’s hand)
Happy New Year, Emma.
EMMA
(beaming)
Happy New Year, Jack.
They share a kiss as the clock strikes midnight.
CUT TO:
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Jack and Emma are lying in bed, cuddled up together.
JACK
(smiling)
I’m glad we spent New Year’s Eve together.
EMMA
(kissing him on the forehead)
Me too.
JACK
(yawning)
I’m getting sleepy.
EMMA
(nodding)
Me too.
They close their eyes and drift off to sleep.
